Meet Lori
From as early as I can remember, communication has been the most important aspect of my life. My daddy loves to tell all these wild stories about me talking his ear off trying to communicate some important information. At least it would be important to me. Oddly enough, my husband now tells the same stories. However, no matter why it is that I came to love sharing and communicating, I believe I developed it naturally.
For me marketing is all about communicating. At it’s most basic element marketing is telling people what you do over and over again. Marketing tells the story in ways that educate, inspire, entertain, and inform people while telling them what you do. It should come as no surprise that my work experience as an executive assistant includes working in the marketing and sales department for a couple of executives in the hotel industry. During those years, I really learned a lot by working with others creating marketing plans, developing collateral, analyzing data, and implementing strategies. I also invested a few years working in face-to-face sales in the retail industry, which was quite interesting.
Now here comes social media and wow, communicating is on steroids! I love all the tools that allow me to communicate on a much larger scale. But the thing that excites me most about this big opportunity to communicate is helping others find their voice in the Web 2.0 community!
